Samantha's Vintage Tea Party

As part of hen party no.1 Samantha had in her honour, a pre-wedding vintage tea party

Although she knew it was a tea party, she didn't know any of the details.

A few of my friends came over on the day of the tea party to make sandwiches and help get everything ready. As we weren't allowed into the venue until 5pm and the tea party started at 6pm, everything had to be done before.

However... There didn't seem like a lot to do at the time so we sat around and drank tea whilst listening to music. Good times!

Then we realised we hadn't done any preperations and it was 4pm. Ooops.

After a LOT of rushing about and trips to Lidl and Tesco,  we finally got everything together and got to the venue on time. The majority of our guests (all 35 of them) commented on how pretty everything looked. So all the rushing didn't go to waste!

Here are some pictures from the evening:

On arrival, you would be greeted by this sign...
We had to cover up the 'community activities' I'm sure no one would want to read about the Italian and street dance lessons also held in the hut!

Just a few of the delicious cakes
The Bride To Be!

This is what everything looked like before our guest arrived

Pink flowers and  stripy/spotty bunting included!

Here are some of our guests

It was lovely that everyone made a big effort and wore pretty dresses and heels.

What was even more impressive, was that these 'ladies' then played musical chairs in their 6 inch stiletto's! And they weren't holding back on the competition either!

For the second half of the evening we played games. Everyone sat in a huge circle in the second room and we started by asking Samantha questions about Dan that he had already answered.
For every question she got wrong, she had to eat a piece of cinnamon gum. Although she cheated slightly by only nibbling  the pieces of gum, it was still pretty funny. Especially when she didn't know the name of Dan's sister. When he didn't have one. Tee hee!

We then had a quiz. Some of the questions included 'What word can go before holiday, relations and school?' and 'The custom of carrying a bouquet started for what purpose?'

After someone yelled 'It must be summer' to the first question and some one else said 'No you can't have summer relations' I go and yell 'Of course you can have summer relations!'  Another oops moment.
The second question made everyone aware that carrying a bouquet was originally for warding off evil spirits! Seemed funny when I was preparing the questions!!!

Before musical chairs we played toilet paper bride. To do this we all divided into groups and made a wedding dress on one of the girls out of toilet paper. This turned into everone bursting into hysterical laughter whilst holding toilet paper strips. At least everyone was having a good time!

Check out Samantha's sexy heels!

All in all the evening went great! People are still coming up and telling me how brilliant the evening was, how well everything was organised and how much fun they had!

Score.
